MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- 1-2 Years experience in the electric utility field.
- Electrical Engineering with power emphasis preferred.
- Must be ambitious, enthusiastic, a self-starter, an innovator, well organized and be able to work well under pressure of multiple deadlines and assignments, exceptional time management, strong interpersonal skills, problem solving, decision-making, team player and leadership qualities essential.
- The successful applicant must demonstrate in oral interview, exceptional leadership qualities, ability to perform projects and assignments in a timely fashion without supervision, and ability to motivate exceptional employee performance
- Requires a Valid Driver’s License (subject to motor vehicle record review)
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:
- Direct data collection, field information, and database input for station load reports, interpret data to monitor continuous capability of equipment, voltage levels, power factor, etc.
- Prepare load flow studies and circuit modeling for transmission and distribution circuits.
- Make recommendations for improvements
- Approves the technical content of work orders for construction or reconstruction of applicable facilities
- Review all designs, plans, and specifications for electrical facilities to assure RUS compliance, integrity of system protection and stability and consistency in design
- Prepare sectionalizing coordination studies on each distribution circuit and transmission line and specifies improvements based upon emergency conditions and the outage report database
- Responsible for the electrical facilities maintenance program to include distribution and transmission equipment and lines and forecasts maintenance schedules, assist in scheduling and tracks progress
- Design substation facilities as needed to accommodate growth requirements on the reservation.
- Standardize substation design
- Provides code and regulations interrelations for the Authority’s management and employees
- Establishes standards for the overall design of electrical facilities including transmission, distribution, and substations and the modification or upgrading of such facilities
- Assist in the preparation and forecasting of capital and operations budgets
- Utilizes planning, load forecasting, econometric and end use modeling to predict needed improvements in system operations and service reliability
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested
