The IT Division of NTUA was formed in 1999. It began as Management Information Systems,
or MIS. In CY 2004, the name was changed from MIS to IT, or Information Technology Division.
The Information Technology Division of NTUA provides the technology tools necessary for our employees to perform their jobs better, faster, and more efficient. Our purpose is to keep NTUA at the forefront of changing Information Technology. Through continuous change and improvement, we realize the potential to transform NTUA in significant and positive ways.
The IT Division consists of four unique departments – the Communications Department, the Network/Systems
Department, the Computer Services Department, and the SAP Office, in addition to the overall Administrative Office.
- The Communications Department is responsible for providing backbone connectivity by the use of microwave wireless communications, telecommunications; telephones, security and video surveillance systems and two-way mobile radio communication systems
- The Systems/Network Department is responsible maintaining a robust, secure and reliable networked information system. This system supports the company’s enterprise applications, client platforms and the intranet and Internet structure.
- The Computer Services Department is responsible for the first line of support to internal customers, who are the End-users. Computer support is provided in areas of hardware such as desktop PCs, laptops, printers, and related computer peripherals; software applications; and basic assistance in the use of the company’s ERP software.
- The SAP Office directs activities related to the Company’s ERP Software, SAP. The activities include support, enhancements or development, future implementations, and upgrades.
The Administrative Office is responsible for providing direction and managing departments to plan and achieve information technology goals and objectives.
