Mr. Haase

 

 

     Walter W. “Wally” Haase, P.E.,is the General Manager for the Navajo Tribal Utility Authority (NTUA), the largest multi-utility owned and operated by an American Indian tribe. The NTUA provides electricity, water, wastewater, natural gas and off-grid residential power for the greater 27,000 square-mile Navajo Nation. The NTUA provides services in northwestern New Mexico, northern Arizona and southwestern Utah. 

Mr. Haase has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois and a Master of Business Administration degree from Keller Graduate School of Management located in Chicago, Illinois. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois and North Carolina. He also has a USDOT Gas Pipeline Operator’s license. He has 19 years of senior-level executive experience in the electric utility industry, spending the last two years at NTUA.

Mr. Haase was previously employed as the General Manager of the Board of Public Utilities in the City of Jamestown, NY. Mr. Haase joined the BPU in 2000, and worked closely with the BPU Board, the Mayor, City Council and BPU staff to continue providing low-cost, reliable utility services for the area while regionalizing and expanding services, with a special focus on economic development for the region.
