NTUA Board Chairperson
Sidney B. Dietz II, Berkeley, California

Mr. Dietz is a regulatory lobbyist for Pacific Gas & Electric in San Francisco specializing in energy efficiency, natural gas, and public purpose programs. He is a doctoral candidate in Energy and Resources at the University of California at Berkeley. He has a Master of Science Degree in Energy and Resources, and a Bachelor's Degree in Physics from UC Berkeley. Chairman Dietz was formerly manager of the Navajo Nation Air Quality Control Program where he led the development of the major source regulations and the creation of a certified air quality monitoring system, a first for the Navajo Nation.
 
NTUA Board Vice Chairperson
Derrick Watchman, Window Rock, Arizona

Mr. Watchman has an extensive background in management operations relating to tribal and federal procedures, especially in the arena of financial services. He has served as the former Chief of Staff to the President of the Navajo Nation, overseeing the executive branch, including 16 tribal departments. He was also the former Director of Indian Affairs for the U.S. Department of Energy, assisting with the expansion of energy programs for Indian tribes and working with tribes on the impacts of electricity deregulation. Mr. Watchman holds a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's degree in Business Administration.
 
NTUA Board Secretary
Sonny Clark, Window Rock, Arizona

Mr. Clark provides the NTUA Board with strong credentials in the areas of management and development. Currently, Mr. Clark is employed with the Navajo Nation as a Principal Contract Analyst for the Office of Management and Budget. Mr. Clark lends his experience in administration; contracts and grants negotiation, management, dispute resolution, and contracting officer positions. He also is quite familiar with construction development and management, including strong administrative support skills that have been developed in the governmental and private sectors.
 
Mel R. Begay, Brimhall, New Mexico
Mr. Begay is a Navajo Nation Council Delegate, representing the tribal communities of Mexican Springs and Coyote Canyon, New Mexico. He serves on the Government Services Committee of the Navajo Nation Council and frequently networks with local, state, and federal governments. Mr. Begay manages and owns his own business, Native Crafter’s Supply, a jewelry supply business that helps native craftspeople produce quality native jewelry. Mr. Begay has a Business Administration Degree from Parks Business College.
 
William H. Clagett, Lone Tree, Colorado
Mr. Clagett brings to the NTUA Board a wealth of experience in the utility industry. He was the Administrator with the Western Area Power Administration and served as a past Assistant Administrator for the Bonneville Power Administration office in state of Washington. He also served as chairman of the North American Electric Reliability Council and as chairman of Western Systems Coordination Council. Currently, Mr. Clagett is the president of A1 Mat, Inc., a consulting firm in Colorado. His field of expertise includes transmission system studies, wholesale customer service engineering design, power contract negotiations, and transmission design standards.
 
Jack Conovaloff, Tolleson, Arizona
Mr. Conovaloff has more that 26 years of experience in water, wastewater, power, land development and agricultural issues. He has severed as an advisor to the board of directors of the Navajo Agricultural Products Industry, Water Resources Director to the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community (Pima & Maricopa), Tribal Planner and T. E. R. O. official for the Colorado River Indian Community (Mohave, Chemehuevi, Navajo & Hopi), Tribal Planner to the San Carlos Apache Tribe, Property Management Coordinator for the City of Mesa, Manager of the Roosevelt Irrigation District in Buckeye, Arizona, the New Magma Irrigation & Drainage District in Queen Creek, Arizona and the Metropolitan Water Improvement District in Tucson, Arizona. Currently, Mr. Conovaloff is managing his family’s farming operation in west Phoenix and provides consulting to various tribes in the Southwest on economic development issues. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
 
Belinda P. Eriacho,Tempe, Arizona
Ms. Eriacho has more than 15 years of experience in environmental, health and safety management. She is employed with Pinnacle West Corporation in Phoenix where she serves as the Environmental, Health, and Safety Audit Leader. Her job focuses on compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, safety and Department of Transportation laws and regulations, advising the company on its scope of responsibility. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Sciences, a Master's Degree in Technology, and a Master's Degree in Public Health.
