  Residential Gas Service

Institutional & Public Building/Authority Gas Service applies to all natural gas service required for institutional purposes or uses not involving metered residences or apartments, commercial establishments, or industrial operations. Service is limited to non-profit organizations, such as government agencies, public school districts, churches, hospitals, and missions (other than residences). Not applicable to temporary, standby, supplementary, or resale service.

Power Plant Protection Supplemental Fuel Service applies to large volume power plant customer which receives all gas through a single metering and delivery installation of the Authority located on, or adjacent to, the gas transmission pipeline of El Paso Natural Gas Company.

Purchased Gas Cost
The PGC reflects NTUA's actual cost of purchasing and transporting natural gas to its distribution system. These costs are calculated on a monthly basis and passed through to customers based on their individual metered usage. The effective PGC rate ($ / Therm) may vary from month to month as the purchase cost of natural gas, and its transportation costs, net of the amount assigned directly to the power plant protection fuel service, vary on market and contractual conditions.

SENIOR CITIZEN DISCOUNT
A ten percent (10%) utility discount rate shall be granted to eligible residential customers who are sixty (60) years or older and have a total household income of twenty-one thousand dollars ($21,000) or less per year. The residence is the primary residence of the customer/spouse and is a single metered family dwelling unit.

Each customer must provide reasonable proof that they meet the criteria required. Copies of one of the following is required to verify income: A latest Income Tax Return, Social Security Payment Notice, Retirement Annuity or Pension. To verify age: Driver’s license, Identification Card, Certificate of Indian Blood or Birth Certificate.

The discount provided by this rule is temporary and shall be reviewed every februrary of each year. The Authority reserves the right to teminate the discount or make such revisions or modifications at any time.
