Light Up Navajo Donations & Contributions
The Light Up Navajo Pilot Project was created from conversations with members of the American Public Power Association (APPA). In Spring 2019, the NTUA partnered with the APPA to connect Navajo homes to the electric grid by creating an innovative, pioneering pilot project called Light Up Navajo (LUN). The goal was to energize Navajo homes at an expedited pace, helping to improve the standard of life for Navajo families living without electricity. The project was modeled much like the concept of providing mutual aid. It was first of its kind between electric utilities and NTUA.
